If you're a chocolate lover like me, this Crock-pot Chocolate Custard Cake is just the thing for you! I think the "sauce" is what really makes this dessert. It reminds me of the Chocolate Lava Cake that I blogged about a little while back, but I actually think that this recipe is better. After delivering some to the in-laws, I received two different texts telling me that they thought it was delicious, and I have to agree. My father-in-law said it may even be "one of the best yet". So if you want, or even need, something warm, gooey, and chocolatey in your life, this is it!
Recipe from: "101 Things To Do With A Slow Cooker"
Servings: 6-8
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 2 - 2 1/2 hours
Ingredients
Batter:
2 cups of a packaged brownie mix
1 large egg
1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
1/4 cup of water
Sauce:
1 cup of hot water
1/2 cup of brown sugar
3 tablespoons of baking cocoa
Directions:
1.) In a mixing bowl, mix batter ingredients by hand.
2.) Pour batter in greased 3 1/2 - 4 quart slow cooker.
3.) Mix sauce ingredients together in separate bowl.
4.) Pour sauce evenly over batter. Do not stir after sauce has been added.
5.) Cover and cook on HIGH heat for 2 - 2 1/2 hours.
6.) Allow cake to cool for 30 minutes before serving. Serve with vanilla ice cream.
