Hot Spiced Tea

Hey guys! If you like warm tasty beverages on chilly winter days, I've got a recipe for you! We have been making this Hot Spiced Tea for several years now. I think the recipe comes from a church cookbook that my mother-in-law has. She made it for everyone pretty regularly, and since my husband really likes it, it's just something that has stuck and that we mix up in the fall and winter months. Isn't it just so nice to snuggle up on the couch with a warm drink, a fluffy blanket, and the Christmas tree lights on? My favorite! 💗  I made a batch of this a few weeks ago and have been drinking it in the evenings after dinner or occasionally in the mornings in place of the usual coffee. No matter when you drink it, it's DELICIOUS! We put in an Insinkerator instant hot water dispenser in the new house, and I use it constantly! I wasn't sure it would really be worth it, but the husband insisted, and I'm glad that he did. It is so convenient. Boiling water o...

Orange Julius Copycat

Hey y'all I remember being a teenager and having my first Orange Julius® from the Dairy Queen® in the mall. I went back there for one whenever I got a chance. When I came across this recipe while searching for "summer" drinks, I knew that I had to give this a try. I tried looking up the exact ingredients that DQ® uses. I found some of the same ingredients that this recipe calls for, but it looks like they use some sort of base and sweeteners. Who really knows what all is in it... Anyway, I think that this copycat recipe is very similar. Recipe from: The Frugal Girls Orange Julius Copycat Recipe Total Time: 5 minutes Ingredients: 6 ounces Orange Juice concentrate, frozen 1 cup of water 1 cup of milk 1/2 cup of sugar (I used less sugar, about 1/4 cup and it was still plenty sweet.) 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream 10 ice cubes Directions: 1.) Place all ingredients in blender. Blend well. It's so easy! ...

Watermelon-Mint Cooler

Hey friends! Tomorrow is the Fourth! Maybe you have a BBQ or party planned. This Watermelon-Mint Cooler would be a great drink to make a pitcher of and serve to your guests (or you could just drink the whole thing yourself, like I did.) Today I had some leftover watermelon that I didn't want to go to waste, and our mint plant is doing really well, so I wanted to find a recipe combining both. With a simple Google search I found just the thing! I came across the recipe for this Watermelon-Mint Cooler and gave it a try. I REALLY liked this drink! It was super refreshing and as my husband said, "very summer-y." I used a frozen lemonade concentrate. My watermelon did have seeds, I just picked them out before adding to the blender.  I did not strain the watermelon/lemonade mixture. The watermelon and mint in my picture below are halved because I only had about 2 cups of watermelon in the refrigerator. The only thing that I think I would change about this recipe is that I thi...

Frosted Lemonade

Hey friends! So, I decided to make this because yesterday I had Chick-fil-A® for lunch. I don't eat there very often, but when I do, I like to order myself one of their Frosted Lemonades to go along with my chicken sandwich. I've Googled recipes for recreating the Frosted Lemonade before, and I've always wanted to try making this at home...so I did! I found this recipe, and I must say that to me, it tastes almost EXACTLY like what you get at the restaurant! If you love lemonade, ice cream, and chilly drinks, you'll love this! This drink just screams SUMMERTIME to me, and it is officially summer now, you know?  🍋🍦🍋🍦🍋🍦🍋🍦🍋🍦🍋🍦🍋🍦🍋 Recipe from: The Frugal Girls Servings: 1 Time: 5 minutes Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups of vanilla ice cream 3 tablespoons of frozen lemonade concentrate 2/3 cup of whole milk (I used 2%) Directions: 1.) Add 1/2 cup of ice cream, frozen lemonade concentrate, and milk to blender. Blend thoroughly. 2.) Add remaining ic...

Mocha Punch

Hey y'all! This punch can be customized with any coffee and chocolate ice-cream of your choosing. The original recipe did not call for whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles to be added, but I saw where someone commented that they did this, so I decided to try it. I must say that the punch was awesome by itself, but adding the toppings make it even better! It was soooooo creamy. Plus, who doesn't like chocolate sprinkles? If you have any left over you can even store it in an airtight container in your refrigerator and save for later! I just had a cup of what we had left, and it is still delicious even after the ice-cream has completely melted. This Mocha Punch would be great for a bridal shower, baby shower, birthday party, or even to celebrate the end of the school year! 😉 Enjoy! 🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈 Recipe from: "Allrecipes.com" Servings: around 20 small cups Mocha Punch Ingredients: 4 cups of brewed coffee of your choice 1/4 cup of su...
