Slow Cooker Broccoli Beef

Hey y'all! Well, we've almost made it to Friday, and I've got a new recipe for you to try out this weekend!  This Slow Cooker Broccoli Beef is soooooo good. Instead of heading to that Chinese buffet, stay home and mix this up instead.  I don't recall where I originally found this recipe, but I have made it several times in the crock-pot, and it's ALWAYS delicious. I decided a couple weekends ago  to try this recipe using the Slow Cook option on my new Instant Pot®. It's supposed to cook just like a slow cooker on this setting. You keep the time and temperature the same as you would in a slow cooker and make sure that the lid is venting. I cooked the beef mixture in the Instant Pot® for 4.5 hours before adding the cornstarch and water mixture, and it worked out perfectly!  As you will see, this recipe calls for flank steak, but I have used different cuts, and as long as it is thinly sliced, it always seems to turn out good. This particular time I used bottom

Peanut Butter Banana Breakfast Shake

Hey everyone! I want to share with you my go-to breakfast for during the week. I honestly can't believe that I haven't thought to share this with you sooner! This Peanut Butter Banana Shake is the shake that I make most mornings. I do have a couple of others that I'll occasionally use, and I'll be sharing those with you soon. I've been mixing up shakes for breakfast every morning since school started back in August. On the weekends I splurge and eat pretty much whatever sounds good, but during the week I use a breakfast shake to help keep me full until lunch time rolls around. It only takes a couple of minutes to blend everything together. Then, I pour it in my Blender Bottle®, and I'm ready to go! I used to drink those pre-packaged nutritional shakes, but they always left me feeling not so great. Not to mention they have several ingredients that are not healthy. I wanted something that would be quick, easy on the stomach, yet filling. This shake does a pretty

Chocolate Silk Pie

Hey guys! Hope that you are doing well and that you had a good week! I want to share with you a dessert that everyone in our family loves. It's a recipe from the kitchen of my husband's grandma. It's called Chocolate Silk Pie, and it's AWESOME. She always makes this pie for holidays and family get-togethers. It's that dessert that we always look forward to. Last weekend I decided to give it a try myself. It's actually really simple (if you use a store bought crust) and doesn't take much time to bake. It was my first time making it, and I think that it turned out really good. The only thing that went wrong was that I forgot to cover up the pie crust, which she recommends doing for the entire bake time. So, mine turned out a little too brown. And maybe the pie itself was just a tad over cooked on the top..? Probably. I'm still bad about that with this oven...  There was something just a bit different than how hers usually tastes, but I couldn't real

Instant Pot Orange Chicken

One of my Christmas presents this year was a nifty new kitchen gadget, an Instant Pot®. Have you heard of this thing? It's an electronic pressure cooker. Apparently it's all the rage right now, even though I was unaware. I had heard of it a couple of times and have been wanting a pressure cooker but didn't give it much thought. I guess that Santa thought that I needed one, and I'm happy to say that I think that I will love it! I'm thinking that it will get more use than my slow cooker. It cooks food 70% faster and has tons of functions. You can even use it as a slow cooker, steamer, or rice cooker. I have made a batch of white rice with it, and it turned out better than when I use my actual rice cooker....seriously. It did an amazing job. The first meal that I made using this gadget was a deer roast with potatoes and carrots. It turned out SO tender and just fell right off of the bone! The recipe below is pretty much the original that I used, even though I c

A.1. Meatloaf

Hey everyone! Here's a recipe that I make fairly often. I'm not a huge fan of meatloaf really. This is more for the husband than anything, but this meatloaf has such a good flavor that I will eat it. I found this recipe on the side of an A.1. Original Sauce bottle and gave it a try a few years ago, and it has just kind of stuck! Whip up some mashed potatoes and heat up some green beans to go with it, and you've got yourself a meal. Recipe from: A.1. Original Sauce bottle Prep Time: 10 minutes Cook Time: 60-70 minutes Servings:6 A.1. Meatloaf Ingredients: 2 pounds ground beef 1 onion, chopped 8 oz. can tomato sauce 1 cup dry breadcrumbs 1/2 cup A.1. Original Sauce 2 eggs, beaten 1/2 teaspoon black pepper Directions: 1.) Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. 2.) Divide tomato sauce. 3.) Mix half of tomato sauce and all other ingredients together in a large bowl. 4.) Using your hands, knead all ingredients until thoroughly combined. 5.)
