This would be a good recipe to put on first thing Christmas morning, and by the time you're done opening gifts, you'll have this delicious cocoa for everyone to enjoy! Too late now, but maybe next year?! And you could still surprise everyone with some on a chilly winter morning, or mix it together after dinner and enjoy a cup snuggled up in front of the fireplace! This recipe is very rich and SOOOOO CREAMY. Top a cup with marshmallows or some whipped cream, and you're set! If you like Hot Chocolate, you'll love this recipe!
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 2 hours
Total Time: 2 hours 5 minutes
Ingredients:
1.5 cups heavy whipping cream
14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
6 cups milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups milk chocolate chips (can also use semi-sweet)
Directions:
1.) Stir together all ingredients in a 5 quart crock pot (If doubling the recipe use a 6-7 quart crock pot).
2.) Cover and cook on LOW for 2 hours, stirring occasionally, until chocolate is completely melted and milk is heated. Can cook on HIGH for shorter amount of time if you're having trouble getting chocolate to melt. Once melted, turn crock pot to WARM setting.
3.) Stir again before serving. Top with marshmallows or whipped cream.
